Short but steep 4.1mi, 2200ft gain summer afternoon outing from the top of the nearby neighborhood streets. This was my 2nd summit of Rubicon. The first trip can be found here.

Parked at the gate, which only limited one from the last 50 yards or so of road. One other car at the trailhead, though I would see 4 parties on the trail today.

The peak is visible from the trailhead and then from one lone spot on the trail. The remainder of the route is under deep tree cover. I was a bit worried about the snow level near the summit, but it turned out to just be patchy.

The initial section (along with most of the trail) was straight up the ridge.

The one landmark on the route- a water tank about a third of the way up.

As on my first visit, the use trail leading to the summit was in good condition and easy to follow- especially on the lower portions.

A small snowmelt stream that was trickling down to join the stream in Lonley Gulch

Started running into patchy snow around 8500ft. The skeeters came out for a bit around then as well.
