About 16.5 miles (and 4k of elevation gain) from Lobdell Lake near the CA/NV border.
Most of todays route was along old mining roads and the area is dotted with old mining claims and Gold Rush era ghost towns.
These were my 44th and 45th peaks from the Tahoe OGUL list.

Bit of a traffic jam on Burcham Flat road on the drive to the trailhead. There was a bull leading at the front of the herd and the ranchers were riding horseback behind.

Parked on the east shore of Lobdell Lake, though in retrospect I think I could have gotten my outback closer. It was the opening weekend of deer season (I always forget about that) and there were hunters all over the place.

The Sweetwater peaks are visible from 395 near Topaz lake (and the CA/NV border). They're the distinctive white range.

I took the forest road from the east lakeshore which wound through the trees for a bit before ending at a (hunter occupied) campsite.

There were a multitude of use trails and I picked one up that looked to be heading in my direction. (From the prints, it appeared to be a cow path)

The cow path ended in a meadow were cows were still grazing. They were quite skittish and herded up as I approached.
