Topo and GPS tracks from todays quick outing. (Ended up hiking in a counterclockwise figure eight starting from the northern point on Blue Lakes Road)
One of the easier OGUL peaks- 3.5 miles, 1500ft gain.

I parked at this turnout on Blue Lakes Road. A little further north would have been shorter and a little further south would have been less steep.

The road continued for about 25 yards and then dead ended. Skeeters were pretty ravenous until I got up out of the trees.

The initial slope was quite steep and slippery. Thats The Nipple on the horizen.

Markleeville comes into view (left of what looks to be the highpoint) up atop the initial ridge.

Jeff Davis Peak was actually a bit closer than Markleeville.
This is the only class 4 peak on the OGUL list and I'm leaving it for the end.

Plodding up the sandy slope. Lots of flowers in bloom today.

I decided to angle around this small valley to the right to avoid losing elevation. This unfortunatley comitted me to the ridge and I probably would have been better off crossing the dip and heading directly peakward.

Mule ears and lupine abounded.
