About 8-9 miles and 2500 ft of gain from the Mono Pass trailhead near the Yosemite Tioga Pass entrance. Absolutely beautiful summer day today.

There are some nice views of Mammoth from the early trail. My initial plan was to follow the trail until the Spillway Lake junction- but I would end up turning upward a bit short of that.

Crossing the Dana Fork of the Tuolumne "River"

Mammoth visible through the trees in a few places along the trail.

Zoomed shot. I was angling for that forested slope off on the left.

Kuna/Koip visible in the distance as the trail headed toward the Spillway Junction.

I headed down and rock hopped Parker Pass Creek a bit short of the junction. Long gentle forested slope beyond the creek.

Passed this faint but definite trail about a hundred yards upslope. Not sure what trail this is but I would follow it for a bit on my return trip.

Continuing upward- eventually reaching the outlet creek of Kuna Lake. Hopped the creek and continued upward.
