Short 2.5 mile, 1100ft gain outing today from Walking Box Ranch road just south of the CA/NV border and 20 minutes SW of Searchlight, NV

Hart is visible from Searchlight and was prominent on the horizon on the whole drive to the trailhead. (Its on the right side of this shot).

Closer look at Hart as I scouted around for a place to park.

Parked on one of the numerous turnouts off of Walking Box Ranch road. I later learned that you could take this dirt road to a saddle on the right side of the peak.

Quite chilly this morning- in the mid 50's. Wore my jacket and wasn't uncomfortable with it on. (Much different than the mid 90's from last weekend)

There's a box of wood/campfire circle off there on the right.

Think this might have been a property marker. Didn't see anything else manmade on the route today.

It was about a mile across the desert to the peak. Followed the wash for a bit, but this was sandy and I soon migrated up to the flat.

Standard Joshua Tree/Pinyon/Juniper foliage that is common in this part of the state.

Hart clouded in as I approached from the west. The clouds would blow off by the time I reached the summit.

Another shot of Hart. I was angling toward the weakness on the near face, where there reportedly was a class 2-3 line to the summit.
