Just 3.7 miles and 1100ft of gain for this short class 2 scramble today.

Probably took me longer to find the correct road (and a place to park) than it did to scale the peak. There are numerous mining stakes in the area surrounding the peak and private property abounds.

Driving in on the unsigned "North Crescent Peak Road". Like much of there area, the terrain hosted a sparse Joshua Tree forest.

This turnout was one of the few on the (recently graded) road, so decided to head out from here. The peak was only a about a mile distant and the ridge route was obvious.

Picked a random wash and started heading peakward. (I'm now wondering if this cut across someone's mining stake and I might have been better off taking the wider route I took on the return)

Wouldn't be a hike without a #$%#@ mylar balloon sighting.

Antlers bleached in the desert sun.

Joined the end of Crescent Peak road as it dissipated into a wash. Started encountering these pipes- which I assume were survey or property markers. (There appeared to be an old fence along the same route- of which only a few fenceposts remained)

The ascent ridge. There's another white pipe roughly in the center of the frame.

Up to the rocky ridgetop and then a left turn for the quarter mile ridge traverse to the summit.
