I made it up to the road junction and decided not to push it any further. In retrosepect, I think I could have gotten the outback up to the Hole in the Ground trailhead but not to Castle Pass.

The spur trail leading from the end of the road up to the PCT junction. A fisherman had gotten his truck up to the end of the road and he was heading out as I passed.
